Analysis of the cork sector and industry in Portugal

The Portuguese Competition Authority published a report that intends to describe the functioning of the cork sector in Portugal, from the extraction of raw materials to the marketing of the various processed products, as well as the current regulatory framework of the sector. The document also provides a set of recommendations that are intended to promote more efficient functioning of the various stages of the sector by reducing certain information asymmetries existing between actors, the promotion of a raw material trading market, and the possible revision of legislation on the sector.
