Cork in Parliamentary Debates

“Cork in the Parliamentary Debates of the Portuguese Nation – 1839-1899” is the title of the book recently published by the historian Nuno Silva, who holds a master’s degree in Contemporary History from the Faculty of Arts of Porto University. The book covers such areas as politics, industry, agriculture, domestic and foreign trade, maritime and land transport, means of communication, finances, taxes, political and economic thinking, with cork being the uniting thread.
