Ayres Cork wins international award
The Ayres Cork project, a furniture set made of cork, won a bronze medal in the international 2014/2015 ‘A’ Design Award & Competition, in the “Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design” category. Albertina Oliveira, a Portuguese architect, is the designer of this project. She designed a lamp set, table and eight chairs from cork and corkbalt, which combines basalt fibre with cork, which interact with each other and work as one. All the items can be fitted together. Cork shows in this way its versatility, comfort, softness and aesthetics.
