Put cork inside aircraft
Beira Interior University, in Covilhã, is collaborating in a project that aims to put cork inside aircraft. The DesAIR project permits the use of a material that offers good sound, thermal and vibration insulation. The work focuses on the development of new high-performance composite solutions for aircraft interiors, such as cork, integrating natural materials and specific manufacturing processes. The prototype of a compartment for a business jet was presented at the German fair Aircraft Interiors, which took place in Hamburg.
