The export business of Cork in Spain and Portugal during the 20th century: Changes and public interventions” is the title of the PhD thesis of the researcher Francisco Manuel Parejo Moruno, at Extremadura University. The work analyses the changes that have marked the world business of the cork industry in the 20th century, focusing mainly on Portugal and Spain in comparison with the other countries involved in this business. The thesis highlights the change of positions between the two countries in the worldwide leadership of the cork industry since the Spanish civil war of 1936. Portugal took first place and Spain moved to second position.
