Symbios – The Knowledge of Nature
Symbios is the new innovative process developed by CTCOR (Cork Technology Centre) which prevents the formation of TCA, the compound chiefly associated with the presence of mouldy odours commonly known as “cork taint”. Symbios is a preventive biological process that tackles the root causes of the problem, at the first stage of the production process, in other words during the boiling. The process was developed over more than two years of research. It promotes the development of benign organisms that occur naturally in cork, to the detriment of less desirable microbiological species.
