WWF protects the cork oak forest

WWW – World Wide Fund for Nature – works in a number of areas and the protection of the unique natural heritage of the Mediterranean  cork oak forests is one of its fields of action. It published the study, “Cork screwed? Environmental and economic impacts of the cork stoppers market”, in 2006. which warns of the importance of preserving the cork oak forests and the cork oak, as essential for maintaining the biodiversity and ecosystems of the Mediterranean.
